Hobgoblin Live!

Nearly all our staff are actively involved in gigging, teaching, playing for dance, or dancing. Please support our bands and dance sides, and book these acts!!


Sarah Mallinson & Debbie Warren Sarah is an accomplished and versatile singer, and works in Hobgoblin Music Leeds shop.
Blackthorn Sussex based Irish Music Band, featuring Pete and Mannie McClelland, Hobgoblin's founders.
ThingumaJig Sussex, Kent & Surrey based Ceilidh and Barn Dance Band, featuring Pete & Mannie McClelland.
Montana Rain Sussex, Kent & Surrey based Americana band with Pete and Mannie McClelland and Nicola Rain from Hobgoblin head office.

Malarchy - an East European duo featuring Cris Pierssené from our Bristol branch. "high energy hybrid of Klezmer and East European violin styles with guitar accompaniment inspired by Django Reinhardts's gypsy jazz". Email malarchy@lycos.co.uk
Pinalou - Funky/World/Jazz band in Bristol featuring Cris, Dom and Lou from the Bristol branch.

Kin'sha - Hybrid trad/urban band, of which Mark McCabe in our Birmingham branch is a member.
The Father Teds - Lively pop/ Irish party band. Mark McCabe, Birmingham manager, plays Accordion.
Trio Gitano - Jamie Fekete from our Birmingham branch is part of this trio, who perform Jazz, Latin and Flamenco music.
Just Plain Myrtle - Cornwall band with Eddy Mayhew from Hobgoblin Wadebridge.
Charlie and Adrian Button - Nottingham Due, with Adrian from Hobgoblin in Nottingham, and his daughter Charlie.
Scanners - Successful Indie pop band featuring Amina Gramy previously of our London shop staff.
Celtic Knot - Irish Ceilidh band featuring Alex Percy (repairs and festivals) and Phil Wilcox (Leeds staff), Sarah Mooney (Hobgoblin Family) and Tess Livingstone (Festivals)

CELTIC HARP

   
Definition: Small instrument of 24 to 34 strings around 1m tall, with curved neck and pillar. The sound box was once carved from solid, but now is usually a box.
